Nepal Floral Guranse

Nepalese loose leaf black tea

Leaf tea 20 grams bag

At the foot of the Mount Everest there is the Guranse tea garden, one of the highest plantations of the world that produced this amazing black tea. This garden has perfected its artisan withering and manual rolling techniques. This exceptional tea differs thanks to its sweet-flowery and delectable 'Muscatel' flavour with superb aroma and finest liquor made of tender two leaves and one bud grown in young and vibrant clonal bushes, which are plucked by highly skilled hands and artisanally processed in the factory under intensive quality control. The fresh taste with light notes of almond, reminds some exceptional Darjeeling First Flushes.

The story goes that in the second half of the 1800s, the Chinese Emperor Daougang gave the Nepalese Prime Minister, Maharaja Junga Bahadur Rana, some tea plants. Hence, tea cultivation was started in the easternmost regions, namely in the district of Ilam. Today, Nepal produces high quality tea through small family farms.

It goes well with carrot cake, macaroons, scones, peaches and apricots, sandwiches, smoked salmon, fresh goat cheese
