A fresh vegetal aroma introduces us to this outstanding organic green tea from Colombia made with only hand plucked one bud and two leaves. Long, wiry leaves produce a pale gold liquor that hints of sugared tropical fruit embraced by a buttery mouth feeling. Although Colombia is primarily known as the land of coffee, high above the Western flanks of the Andes in La Cumbre region, at over 1800 meters of altitude in an area steeped in biodiversity, there are luxurious gardens those that give life to wonderful teas like this one. The tea leaves are picked by hands according to the principle “two leaves and a bud” and carefully produced. The tea grown in rich volcanic soils that naturally promote lush tea plant growth and the consistent climate results in a bountiful production of delicate tea-tips quite throughout the year.
